Jonathan Volyn is a trial attorney and a partner in the Volyn Law Firm. He has litigated matters in state, federal, and appellate courts in Idaho and in numerous other states and U.S. Federal Districts. With over 20 jury trials, Jon has extensive trial experience not only in civil litigation but also in the fields of administrative law and criminal defense. Although his general litigation practice is diverse, Jon emphasizes the practice areas of Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Divorce, Wrongful Death, Business Litigation, Contracts, and Criminal Defense.
Jon began his legal career in Idaho in 2001, and he has both been a partner in one of Idaho’s largest law firms and owned his own small law office managing associate attorneys. After practicing law for 15 years, he was thrilled to fulfill a longtime dream to move to Sun Valley, Idaho and partner with his brother Scott in the Volyn Law Firm.
Jon is a member of the Idaho and Washington State Bar Associations, has served two terms as a Magistrate Commissioner, and was a District Bar President for the term 2013-2014. He has also been twice recognized as one of Idaho’s top 40 litigation attorneys under the age of 40 and has been named as one of Idaho’s top 100 litigation attorneys. He has received pro bono service awards from Idaho and Washington, is a frequent community speaker on behalf of the Idaho State Bar, and was a member of the inaugural class of Idaho’s Academy of Leadership for Lawyers.
